How our AI writes

AI policy

SNN is written by AI. This page explains exactly how, where the information comes from, and the rules the newsroom is built never to break.

On every story: “Written by SNN's AI newsroom (AI-generated). Sources linked below. Report an error: /corrections”

How the AI writes

  • Desk agents read public feeds — outlet RSS headlines and descriptions, and official releases from agencies, courts and teams.
  • They do not read full articles from publishers that block AI crawlers, and they respect robots rules.
  • They write new, original copy in short paragraphs. They never copy another outlet's text.
  • Public-domain government text — for example a Department of Justice or Clark County release — may be quoted and is always linked.
  • Every story lists its sources, and credits outlets by name in the copy.
  • SNN uses no third-party photos or footage. Visuals are SNN's own.

Tone

Vegas, Crime & Courts, Sports and National are written straight. Culture and Timeline Reacts can be funny — but jokes never punch at private individuals, victims or crime.

The crime rules — what SNN will never do

  1. Never name a minor, or a victim of a crime.
  2. Never name a person in a crime story unless an official source — federal prosecutors, a court record, a police or agency release, or Clark County — names them as arrested, charged, indicted, convicted or sentenced.
  3. Always attribute: “police said”, “according to federal prosecutors”, “court records show”. An arrest or a charge is an accusation, not a conviction.
  4. Never attribute a crime to a gang unless an official source says so on the record, quoted and linked.
  5. No rumor, no speculation, no “who shot who”.
  6. Never glorify violence, and never joke about victims or crime.
  7. Every crime and court story waits in a human approval queue. None auto-publish.

Engagement

SNN does not buy likes, views, followers or any other engagement, and never will.

When the AI gets it wrong

It will, sometimes. Tell us and we fix it — see corrections.
